How sexually active and satisfied are people in your country? Certain nationalities brag that they’re the best lovers in the world but is this really so? A recent survey by Durex has accepted the challenge of figuring out where the most sexually satisfied people live. Here are the results.
Switzerland
The most liberated and open people that do enjoy sex and aren’t affected by taboos about it live in Switzerland.
Licensed brothels and prostitution have been legal in Switzerland for some time. People are very liberal and open to talking about sex. In addition, the country has a well-developed sex-ed program that gives kids important information at an early age.
According to a 2013 survey, 21 percent of the people living in Switzerland characterize their sex life as excellent. In the survey, people have also confirmed that they’ve enjoyed some pretty wild sexual experiences in their lifetime.
It’s interesting to point out that countries like Switzerland where sex is accepted as a normal part of life have very low teen pregnancy rates. In addition, the spread of STDs in such countries is limited due to excellent sexual education practices.
Spain
The term Spanish lover refers to a hot and passionate guy who knows how to please a woman in the bedroom. There’s a reason why the term has come to existence. It turns out that people in Spain are highly sexually satisfied and liberal in their attitudes towards intimacy.
Spaniards aren’t concerned about public nudity. In addition, the country is one of the most open towards gay marriages in Europe.
A survey was carried out among 15,000 women in 2014. The aim of the survey was to identify the best male lovers in the world. Spanish men topped the list, followed by guys in Brazil, Italy, France, Ireland, South Africa and Australia.
Italy
As you’ve already seen in the previous section, Italian men are classified by ladies as some of the world’s best lovers. Italians are open about sex, they enjoy it and this is the main reason why the country has some of the most sexually satisfied citizens on the planet.
In the Durex survey, 64 percent of the questioned Italians described their sex life as satisfying. According to the average person in Italy, an intimate session should last at least 10 minutes in order to give please to both (or more!) parties involved.
Brazil
Brazil is another liberal country where people view sex as a normal part of life.
It’s interesting to point out according to a recent survey, 82 percent of adults in Brazil have sex at least once per week. On the other end of the spectrum, only 34 percent of adults in Japan have sex at least once per week.
Brazil ranks high up when it comes to sexual satisfaction, as well. Sexual satisfaction is determined by several factors – ability to orgasm, lack of stress and anxiety during the sexual encounter, freedom from sexual dysfunction, frequency of sex and frequency of enjoying foreplay during sex.
Greece
Another warm and sunny country has made it to the list of places that are open and honest about sex. The percentage of adults who have sex at least once per week is 87 percent and 51 percent of Greeks confirm that they’re satisfied with their sex lives.
Discussions about sex are common among friends and even among co-workers in Greece. In addition, most people are open to discussing sex with their partner. As a result of this effortless communication, the level of sexual satisfaction in the country increases.
According to Durex, Greeks have sex on the average 164 times per year. This is more than any other nation. Brazilians, Polish and Russians come next in the ranking.
The Netherlands
When it comes to liberal attitudes towards sex, few countries can compare to The Netherlands.
This is one of the most pro-sex countries in the world. Excellent sexual education, legal prostitution and positive views towards nudity (there are dozens of nudists beaches) define the attitudes of people towards sex.
In a survey, it became obvious that 64 percent of Dutch people are open about discussing their sexual needs with a partner. They aren’t afraid to take the lead and educate a partner about their preferences. In comparison, only 50 percent of Americans feel confident and open enough to talk about sex with a partner.
Who’s Most Sexually Frustrated?
From what’s been presented as information already, you may have reached the conclusion that Japan is one of the most sexually-frustrated countries in the world. A lot of information confirms this hypothesis.
The lack of sex and the lack of interest towards sex have become the subject of numerous articles published in international media lately. Only 15 percent of people in Japan say that they’re happy with their sex life. Nearly 45 percent of Japanese women say that they either have no interest in sex or that they’re disgusted by it.
Psychiatrists also report that the male aversion towards sex is strong in Japan. The guys aren’t impotent, they simply don’t want to have sex with their partner. When it comes to people who are single, 36.7 percent report that they have been abstinent for more than three years.
India is another place that’s characterized by a high level of sexual frustration. The traditional attitudes towards sex and the importance of purity prior to marriage both stand in the way of liberal attitudes and more sexual openness.
Over the past few years, the number of women in India that use sexual dissatisfaction as a reason for divorce has doubled in India.
A Men’s Health survey suggests that men in India have less sex than guys in any other part of the world. Indian men have sex less than once per week and they have an average of three sexual partners in a lifetime. For women, the average is two partners.
According to some researchers and sex therapists, the fact that large families often live together leads to a lack of privacy. This lack of privacy is the contributing factor that makes Indians enjoy sex less frequently than other people.
